I support organisations in developing and improving patient-facing communication, so that complex medical information is conveyed in a way that is accurate, accessible and considerate for patients and their families.
My work sits at the intersection of clinical practice and medical language expertise. As a former oncology nurse working in a clinical research setting, I spent many years in direct contact with patients. This experience has given me a clear understanding of how medical information is received, where misunderstandings may arise, and how certain formulations can unintentionally create distance or uncertainty.
I combine this clinical background with my work as a medical translator and linguistic validation specialist in clinical research. This results in an approach in which accuracy, empathy and clarity go hand in hand. Medical communication should not only be correct, but also aligned with the patient’s perspective and level of understanding.
